1 Day Rhino Tracking Tour to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Uganda

This 1 Day Rhino tracking tour transfers you to the only home of wild rhinos in Uganda (Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary) for your great lifetime experience. Your will be in position to see these endangered magnificent creatures in their natural home.

Seated on the land expanse of 7000 hectares, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is physically situated at approximately about 176km (100 miles) north of Kampala the capital of Uganda along the Gulu highway towards Uganda’s biggest national conservation reserve the Murchison Falls national park.

Programme for your 1 Day Rhino tracking tour in Uganda
Early in the morning after your morning breakfast, our company driver guide will pick you at 7:00am from the agreed pickup point or hotel of residence in Kampala or Entebbe. The driver guide will first brief you about your 1 day rhino trekking trip, then embark on your 3 hours drive to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for the day activities.

We shall drive through the districts of Kampala, Luweero until we reach Nakasongola district the home of Ziwa rhino sanctuary found along Kampala-Gulu highway. Upon arrival at the rhino sanctuary, you will be further welcomed and briefed by the highly trained rangers who will also guide you through the rhino tracking activity. The rangers will also take you through the tracking guidelines and history of the sanctuary.

During the tracking exercise, you will see a number of white rhinos at a very close proximity. You will also get a chance of seeing other species of animals like bush bucks, reedbucks, monkeys, oribis, among others, birds like the shoebill stock and reptiles. You will also be in position to take photos as well asking questions about rhinos and wildlife at large.

The tracking activity will last for 2 to 3 hours depending on the location of rhinos because tracking is done on foot.

After your rhino tracking experience in the bushes of the Ziwa rhino sanctuary, return and meet your driver. Drive to Kabelega dinners for lunch, few minutes relaxation and afterwards embark on journey back to Kampala or Entebbe or your preferred drop off point.

Note: You will need to wear closed shoes, long pants and apply some insect repellents.
